Image
There was a famous ruler named Sultan Mahmud and he had a slave Ayyaz. Sultan Mahmud loved Ayyaz very much because of his  great wisdom. From time to time, Sultan would test to Ayyaz with various things to see how much love Ayyaz had for him. One day, Sultan Mahmud gathered the most bitter fruits from his garden and called Ayyaz. Sultan told Ayyaz to eat them. Ayyaz took the fruits in his hands and kissed them and then started eating them without any hesitation. Sultan  observed that Ayyaz was eating the fruits with great pleasure as if the fruits were not  bitter. Now Sultan started to think that he might have picked the wrong fruits, so he took one of the fruits from Ayyaz to find out. As soon as Sultan took a bite , he was overwhelmed by the bitterness of the fruits and started screaming for water. When Sultan settled down, he asked Ayyaz: "Why are you unaffected by the fruits?" Ayyaz said: "You only see the bitterness of the fruits but you do not see the one wh...

A boy and his mother went to a shop.

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. Today I wanted to share with you a very beautiful story that I have once read years ago. It is a story of a mother, her little son and a shopkeeper. So, here it is. One day a boy and his mother went to a shop. The shopkeeper looked at the small cute child and showed him a bottle with sweets and said: Dear child, you can take the sweets. But the boy did not take. The shopkeeper was surprised how such a small boy he is and why he is not taking the sweets. The shopkeeper said again: take the sweets, son. But the boy did not take the sweets. Now his mother noticed and asked the boy: take the sweets, dear. Until now the boy refused to take the sweets.  Seeing that, the shopkeeper took the sweets and gave to the boy himself in which he surprisingly saw the boy accepted it and very  happy of getting his two hands full of sweets. While returning home, the mother asked the boy: Why didn't you take the sweets when the shopkeeper asked you to? Can you guess  ...

Measuring Instruments.

Image
Different measurement of quantities require different instruments. The way of measuring length is in deed quite different from the way  to measure mass of an object or time taken for an event occur or that happened. This means that we can not use a thread or rope to measure weight of an object but we rather use it to measure width or length of a room. In this you are going to read and see about which instruments required to measure certain quantities. This article also will be restricted to some fundamental quantities such as length, mass and time. 1. Length Length is a measure of the gap or interval between two points. There are  different instruments especially nowadays to measure length of an object, in which the choice of one to use depends on how longer the object is or how is it between the points that you wanted to measure. Below are some of the instruments we use to measure length. a) The Meter rule b) The vernier callipers c) The micrometer screw gauge d) The t...

Units of Masurements.

When ever we made some measurements in our daily lives, we need to specify the difference between one and other measurements. This measurements can be a count(for money) or measurements for length, width(breadth), height, weight, mass, time, temperature(hotness or coldness of a body), speed(of a moving object), e.t.c. After all these measurements we get back a number(s)(which can be either whole, fraction or decimal) which when these numbers are presented without any indication (of which one measure either mass, temperature, time, e.t.c) one can never distinguish. Thanks to the units of measurements that give us the freedom to write our measurements attached with some unit or its symbol to indicate whether the measured value is for either length, mass or time. Before we dip in to units of measurements, we have to know that these units we wanted to know are for measured quantities. As we mentioned above, length, mass, time, temperature are quantities and are all called fundamental ...
